Fuel System

Your vehicle's fuel system typically consists of a gas tank, filter and injectors. The fuel filter is an important component of your engine. Located between the gas tank and engine, this filter cleans up any dirt or contaminants before anything gets to your engine.

Signs of a faulty fuel system:

  • Difficulty starting or no start
  • Whining noise from the gas tank
  • Stalls during hot weather
  • Loss of power
  • Engine sputters and stalls
  • Engine surges
  • Poor gas mileage

The fuel system is managed by your vehicle’s central computer and is generally maintenance-free. Lack of proper maintenance could increase gas consumption and the system could fail. If the fuel pump filters get clogged, it can decrease pressure and cause some problems with your injectors. They should be cleaned or replaced so they work correctly again.

It's important to keep your car in top shape by following the manufacturer’s recommendations for repairs. A failure on this front could cause more problems than just an annoying signal, like damage done to other parts controlled by central computer!
